FOOTWORKS Dance School was founded by Kerry Anders in 2005.
Kerry Anders is an ISTD dance teacher, and was first to bring the ISTD to Javea giving the opportunity for children to be able to gain recognised qualifications in dance. Kerry has had a successful career with many of her students going to professional dance schools, and have gone on to work in this industry. Sadly, Kerry has had to leave and has left the school to one of her pupils.
FOOTWORKS Dance School is now owned and run by Elena Victoria Gwyn-Jones who is currently a ISTD DDI teacher. She will then will be doing her DDE, the ISTD is a government recognised organisation and the exams that are taken are ofqual recognised, and are UCAS points as well.
Elena has been studying dancing since the age of 3 being taught by ISTD and RAD teachers, and has done few proffesional productions and got offered this amazing opportunity to own her own dance school! Teaching dancing is her passion and in fact has been helping out her teachers since the age of 13.
Elena teaches Ballet Tap and Modern with the ISTD syllabus, Footworks Dance School has other teachers aswell the hip hop / funky classes are taught by Nadine Wheelan who started at the Northern ballet school and then carried her passion in professional dancing in other parts of the world, musical theatre is taught by Izzy who is the newest member to the Footworks faculty.
She has danced since the age of 3, training at the Julie Bromage Dance Academy in Warwickshire in all genres of ISTD. She went on to further her training at Masters Performing Arts College gaining a scholarship. Izzy's passion lies in Musical Theatre having taught all ages & abilities since graduating.
